Kayan New Generation Youth (KNGY)

Kayan New Generation Youth (KNGY) is working for peace, justice, to build a Democratic country, and to improve the lives of Kayan students, youth, and all people.

Goal
Emergence of a peaceful, developed, free and just community in Kayan region.

KNGY’s Objectives
1. To build mutual trust, goodwill, and unity among people in the Kayan region.
2. To promote Kayan young people abilities by fostering of new generation youth leaders
3. To work toward in terms of democracy and human rights education within in Kayan region
4. In order to promote the necessaries else by maintaining and preserving of Kayan literacy and culture
5. o fulfill the needs of education and health in the Kayan region
6. To cooperate with other youth ethnicities to fight and build for the genuine federal democracy

KNGY‘s activities
1. Conducting trainings on Democracy & Human Rights, Environmental protection, Health education, and Community development for Kayan people.
2. Conducting trainings on Basic English speaking, basic computer/ internet, political capacity building, community organizing, leadership and conflict resolution for Kayan youth leaders.
3. Collecting data on human rights violation in Kayan Area.
4. Improving capacity of KNGY new staff.
5. Opening library for Kayan youth in each township.
6. Maintaining KNGY website program.
7. Celebrating Kayan National Youth Day (April 9) with youth conference and football match and Kayan National Day (April 10) and Kayan National Revolution Day (June 4) with cultural performances including songs, dances, literary writing compositions and speeches.
8. Advocating to Kayan people to fight SPDC policies and work-plan in Kayan region.
